Queer-Affirming Therapy in Florida & South Carolina
You shouldn’t have to shrink yourself to feel safe in your relationships.
Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain, defend, or hide who you are.
You’ve done the work to understand yourself,
but it still doesn’t feel safe to fully be that person.
You’re tired of second-guessing yourself in relationships, wondering how much of you is “too much” or not enough.
You might know who you are, or feel closer to it than you used to. But living that truth in your relationships can still feel complicated.
You overthink what you say and how you come across. You say yes when you mean no. You hold parts of yourself back to avoid conflict or rejection, even when you wish you didn’t.
Over time, that shit gets exhausting.
Reading the room. Adjusting. Masking. Trying to figure out which version of you will be easiest to love.
And somewhere underneath all of it is the question you keep coming back to:
Is it actually safe for me to be who I am and still be loved?
Therapy that helps you feel safe being yourself in your relationships
You want to feel more grounded in who you are and more confident showing up that way in your relationships.
That might mean exploring your identity and what queerness means to you, especially if parts of you have been hidden or shaped by other people’s expectations. We might also notice where you’re overextending yourself, where people-pleasing shows up, and what makes setting boundaries feel so damn hard.
We’ll focus on helping you feel safer being yourself, not just in your thoughts, but in your body and your relationships. So you can trust your instincts, express your needs more clearly, and stay connected to other people without losing yourself in the process.
Over time, relationships can start to feel different.
More honest. More mutual. More sustainable.
You’re not constantly adjusting yourself or second-guessing where you stand. You can show up as you are without feeling like you have to earn your place.
What therapy can help you build:
Together, we can work toward:
Feel more grounded in who you are
Explore your identity and queerness on your own terms
Set boundaries without immediately drowning in guilt
Trust yourself instead of constantly second-guessing
Communicate what you need without shrinking yourself
Build relationships where you can be fully yourself and still feel connected
The goal isn’t to become less sensitive, less caring, or less you. It’s to stop losing yourself just to stay connected to everyone else.
Queer-affirming therapy for deeper connection and self-trust
You don’t have to hide parts of yourself to feel connected.
Feel more at home in who you are and build relationships where you don’t have to shrink yourself to belong.
FAQs
-
Queer-affirming therapy is therapy where your sexual orientation, gender identity, relationships, and experiences are understood within the context of your life rather than treated as something that needs to be changed or explained. You don’t need to come in with the perfect label or have everything figured out. We can focus on whatever is actually bringing you to therapy, whether that’s identity, relationships, anxiety, people-pleasing, boundaries, or something else.
-
Yes. Therapy can help you understand why people-pleasing and overextending yourself became patterns in the first place, notice when they’re happening, and practice responding differently. That can include setting boundaries, communicating your needs, tolerating someone else’s disappointment, and learning that conflict doesn’t automatically mean you’ve done something wrong.
-
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to know exactly how you identify before starting therapy. Therapy can give you space to explore your sexuality, gender, relationships, or what queerness means to you without pressure to choose a label or reach a particular conclusion.

No. I work with adults across identities. This page specifically highlights my work with queer and LGBTQIA+ clients, but you don’t have to identify a certain way to be a good fit for therapy with me.
